GSE- World’s Largest Digital Accelerator Announces Fall 2017 Agenda, Speakers, & Judges (Middle East)

November 19, 2017, Dubai, UAE The Global Startup Ecosystem (GSE) has announced the agenda and speakers for the 2nd annual MENA digital accelerator. Founded by Forbes 30 Under 30 Entrepreneur, Christine S. Ntim, the Middle East cohort features finalists from over 17 different countries.

Global Startup Ecosystem (GSE)  launched the 1st annual digital startup accelerator for entrepreneurs residing in or seeking to launch a company in the Middle East.  GSE digital accelerator programs are open to all small businesses, startups, and freelancers. Each application round is rolling admission until the top 100 are selected to complete the program. From the finalist pool, 10 will be selected to pitch investors and influencers on demo day. The top 3 are announced at the conclusion of the program to receive partner prizes, media features, and potential investment.

GSE digital accelerators are organized by 7 regional directors who will be hosting all programs this fall. Startups can apply for admission to a digital accelerator via our partner platform F6S.  The 2017 accelerator dates are:

  3. Europe October 30- November 1st
  4. America November 7-9
  5. Middle East November 19-21
  6. Asia November 22-23
  7. Latin America November 22-23

Skilled in international deal flow origination, screening and search and a business development, partnerships, project management and international communications. Speaking topic: Failure and Success in Entrepreneurship: The Science of Innovation

A discussion of how startups are closer to science experiments than they are to businesses, and how we can use the Scientific Method to minimise our economic exposure to failure, in order to maximise our chance of entrepreneurial success.

Petar has navigated multiple careers across three continents, from academic research scientist and lecturer in Australia, to corporate technical consultant in Germany, before settling in the UAE as a management consultant and entrepreneur. In 2016, Petar founded Ebtikaar, a boutique innovation advisory that solves complex challenges in government-sector innovation and entrepreneurship by turning the art of disruptive innovation into a science. Nominated for the 2017 Arabian Business Mentor of the Year award, Petar is a contributing writer for Entrepreneur ME, Arabian Business and Inc. Arabia and regularly speaks on the topics of innovation and entrepreneurship.

At 1776 Tarek is the Startup Manager working with the portfolio startups on growth and building their network. Tarek is a two-time entrepreneur with a passion for startups, the first of which is IcySolutions, a sports heath hardware company whose products were used by the likes of Manchester United, German National Team and several Olympic Teams. He later founded an e-health startup that gamifies medical equipment training for hospitals and medical professionals. His last position before joining 1776 Startup Incubator in Dubai is working with Rocket Internet on their online food ordering startup Foodpanda, managing the Middle East and later Saudi Arabia in specific. Tarek holds two degrees in Aerospace Engineering from Canada and the Netherlands.


Salma El Hariry is a serial entrepreneur, a globetrotter between san francisco & cairo, who has a vision of 10x growth of emerging world economies in the next 10 year by igniting the full potential of human capital who are building tech startup that deliver exponential social and economic value. She calls them:“Conscious Techies” and is herself on a life mission to connect them with rocketship tools to scale them to [k]3= $B. Salma is currently the founder & CEO of S[k]aleUp Ventures, a new type of venture firm that uses ai and blockchain to be the startup’s online personal investment advisor as well as design data-driven offline interventions that can be a catalyst for accessing smarter investments in emerging markets!Salma holds a bachelor’s degree from the American University in Cairo in Business Administration with a minor in Computer Science. She then went on to graduate from Hult International Business School in San Francisco with a Masters Degree in Digital Marketing. During her studies she consulted for over 50 startups as well as worked at Stanford University’s Peace Innovation Lab . Karim Abdel Kader “ Growth Hacker Mindset: origins and lessons learnt from Egypt”.

Karim is a serial growth hacker and product builder. Karim worked in the digital publishing business and developed extensive experience in the space during his years with LINKonLINE’s digital publishing house on developing, growing and building traction for products like Masrawy and Yallakora. Following his time with LINKonLINE, Karim, joined Connect ads’ Media Solutions and Monetization team to own pricing, pre-sales , ad product development and monetization scopes of local and international players including clients such as MSN and Skype. He also worked very closely with the Otlob team to develop the company’s growth strategy in the run up to its acquisition by Rocket Internet. Currently, Karim is leading products growth at A15 an Egyptian entrepreneurial company with a unique portfolio of startups.Karim received his bachelor of Advertising and Public Relations from MSA University and in his spare time he enjoys Crossfit.
